A Bit About Omar Hussein


Omar Hussein heads Beacon's Retail Investment and Leasing Platform which has grown to include mixed-use projects as well as Asset Management Services. Since the 2018 launch of Beacon, he has consulted institutional owners in the development and implementation of strategic value creation plans for varying projects throughout major, western U.S. markets. Additionally, he's advised on the programming, design and remerchandising of urban, mixed-use assets across a wide range of markets.

Previously serving as Vice President and Market Officer at Regency Centers Corporation, a fully integrated National REIT with a $13 billion market cap, Omar has accumulated over 19 years of principal experience. Overseeing Regency's San Diego office and Orange County region, Omar engaged in leasing, ground-up development/redevelopment, and acquisition/disposition of their premiere, southern California portfolio of retail and mixed-use shopping centers valued in excess of $13 billion. 

Omar is an astute identifier of unique and diversified opportunities that drive maximum Net Operating Income (NOI) and enhance asset value through the strategic repositioning of well-located retail and mixed-use properties. He has completed over 1,200 leasing and sales transactions in his career with over $2.5 billion in total consideration.


Omar holds the ICSC Certified Leasing Specialist designation and is an active member of International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and Urban Land Institute (ULI). He holds active California Real Estate broker and Texas salesperson licenses. Omar served a term on the Board of Directors for the San Diego Economic Development Corporation and holds a BS in Regional Development from the University of Arizona.

A Bit About Chad Vogt

Chad Vogt studied real estate finance at San Diego State University. In 2007 he received his Salesperson License. Chad has had the pleasure of working for Century 21 and Pacific Shore Platinum-where he represented both homeowners and buyers. During 2019 Chad would help Omar launch Beacon Realty Advisors. Today, Chad specializes in landlord and tenant representation of retail properties throughout the Coachella Valley.

While working at Regency, Omar dedicated over ten years to playing an active role in the redevelopment and remerchandising of Costa Verde. Omar and team worked to reposition the 30 year old, 180,000 SF retail property into a high density, mixed-use, transit oriented project catering to the rapidly expanding UTC trade area. Featuring Southern California's newest and largest transit project in decades, an extensive $2B high line trolley system, Costa Verde is situated at the core of San Diego's next "downtown". This emerging epicenter has been artfully curated to meet the needs of ever growing tourism, innovation and 80+ educational institutions throughout SD. Omar served a critical function across the project's varying components, which included direct involvement in leasing, site feasibility, design, hotel and office programming, and placemaking. At the center of UTC's dynamic and entrepreneurial environment, the new face of Costa Verde will provide a mixed-use destination that is rich in experience and amenities.

Village at La Floresta is the epicenter of the 211 acre, master-planned community located on the desirable Imperial Highway. It is comprised of retailers who cater to the local culture and lifestyle needs of the community's 1,100 residential units and beyond. Omar played a vital role from start to finish in all aspects of this ground up development - initial site planning, design, placemaking, merchandising, and leasing. Anchored by Whole Foods, which was negotiated by Omar, Village at La Floresta is comprised of best in class, local and regional retailers like Mendocino Farms, Urban Plates, Stitch & Feather, and Corepower Yoga, to name a few. Featuring tasteful artwork and thoughtfully designed outdoor gathering spaces, this project is the ideal work, live, play destination.

The Village at Tustin Legacy serves the ongoing and varying needs essential to its 1,600 acre master-planned community located in the heart of Orange County. Endless activity surrounds and moves through this region, making this project vital to the residents of Tustin and beyond. Omar was actively involved in this 20 acre, mixed-use, ground up development project while at Regency. The project included 112,000 SF of community serving retail, anchored by Stater Brothers and CVS, and a 130,000 SF medical complex, anchored by Hoag Hospital. Restaurants, health and wellness businesses, as well as professional services, protect this development from economic shifts that often drive vacancies, establishing Tustin Legacy as a long term cornerstone in the heart of Orange County.
